I am lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to continue my music blog at my college’s newspaper’s website. Unfortunately, that means I will no longer be writing on this blog, but you can check out the new and improved version at the Central Florida Future.

New Taking Back Sunday

Taking Back Sunday’s new album “New Again” will be in stores on 6/2, and the band is promoting in full force.

Two tracks, “New Again” and “Sink Into Me” are available on the TBS MySpace, and the video fro “Sink Into Me” was released this week as well.

According to a post on takingbacksunday.com, a third track, “Everything Must Go” will be up for your listening pleasure on the MySpace on Saturday.

50 Cent cancels Orlando BND tour date

According to a phone message from Ticketmaster, 50 Cent will no longer be performing Wednesday at the UCF arena.

All the other bands are still scheduled to perform.

BND Tour 4/21 in Boca Raton now in Pompano Beach

A recent update from Pete said that Tuesday’s BND show has been moved to the Pompano Beach Amphitheater, approximately 20 minutes south of the original venue. All tickets will be honored.

Attention Boca Raton BND tour ticketholders

Apparently, and this is uncomfirmed so far, Boca Raton has banned the Believers Never Die Tour from playing a show in their city. Pete Wentz, bassist for Fall Out Boy has said that the show will still happen, but at another venue. Check back here for an update soon.

Update: I called Livenation, who does the ticketing for the show, and they know nothing about the show being moved, the band being banned or the tickets being refunded. As of five minutes ago (9:40 Eastern time) they were still selling tickets to the show. I’ll keep working on it.

I don’t know who had this bright idea but…

50 Cent is going to be a special guest at a few of the dates on the Believers Never Die tour with Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship, Metro Station, All Time Low and Hey Monday.

As of now, 50 will be gracing the stage (yeah, right) at the following dates:

4/17- Grand Prairie, TX

4/18- Houston, TX

4/22- Orlando, FL

4/24- Charlotte, NC

4/25- Washington D.C.

I’ll be at the Orlando show, although reluctantly at this point. We’ll see.

A blog you should check out

If you haven’t already, go check out Alex DeLeon’s (the lead singer from The Cab) blog. I really enjoy reading it because he seems to be one of the most sincere and appreciative musicians out there right now. He takes a lot of time to read the comments fans leave for him and personally responds to each one. He also gives a lot of insight into the song-writing process and the kinds of things that inspire him, and I think that is something we, as music fans, need to see more of these days. Music is about reaching out to people and touching them on a level that no other medium can really accomplish and I think that Alex really deserves all the credit in the world for recognizing that the fans play an infinite role in what he is able to do as a career.
